hi Ya'll..it's d.c. from nashville tn. (usa)..51 y.o. mid life M.C. beginner...in Oct. 2002, started with a new 250 virago (loved it) but just yesterday, traded for a 2002 Savage with 900 miles on it....really love the bike...read most of the carb spacer posts but i have a 4 yr warranty and i dont want to give them any excuse to screw me over down the line...IE: "you modified the carb and that's why the rod busted"...LOL:)

so forget the spacer for now..it stays i guess...

with idle mixture screw turned out really far...(tried many different settings) bike runs fine at 1/2 choke...but runs crapy at higher rpms with choke all the way in...we are talking 35 degree weather but we are not talking about a cool bike...same roughness after a 2 hr ride if the choke isn't 1/2 way out.

plug black...not good i know...so i can't run it that a way 100% of the time.

but can i run this bike continually with 1/2 choke?...and will it maybe run better with choke all the way in when the weather gets warmer?

BTW...i'm 6'1" but i have a air bladder on the seat, so that solves the leg room problem with this bike.

thanks for all the info so far...love this forum!!
